1st International Food Festival 2016
This year, the International Food Festival for the first semester was held on 27th February on a not so warm and actually quite windy Saturday from 6-9pm at the Otago Museum lawn. Nevertheless, the number of customers seemed never ending on that day and I remember I was over the moon thinking about the money that would flow in ($.$). Aha just kidding.
Look at that money, err I mean line
As if the flying tent at the start of the event was not enough to keep us on our toes, we were also actually really nervous about the reception to the new menu we had on the board. Kudos by the way to the food officers, Zimah and Lincolm, for the idea. You guys rock!
The new menus were hot Kueh Malaya (peanut or chocolate, take your pick - 2 tokens each) and refreshing Cincau drink (1 token).

And surprise surprise, our main menu was still of course the very popular and very sought after Pisang Babujah which comes in two flavours: milk chocolate (a personal favourite) and white chocolate at a price of 1 token each.
Turns out we were worried for nothing as the food we had carefully prepared with TLC (tender loving care) sold like hotcakes (literally?) and we sadly had to turn away a few disappointed customers who didn't manage to get a bite of dem Pisang Babujah.
"Saklikaueh"
All in all, BSA's first IFF for 2016 was a hit, peeps. And we really couldn't have done it without the support of the BSA members. Thank you so much for the motivation and support! We love you guys <3
Happy faces, happy tastebuds
Support so stronk (You're my flashlight...)
On behalf of the BSA committee, I would like to show huge appreciation to all BSA members and thank you again guys! Really!

BSA celebrates 32nd National Day
On 5th March, most of the BSA members got together at OUSA Evison lounge to celebrate the National Day (though we were 2 weeks late to jump on the bandwagon, but we do we). The event started off with a doa led by BSA Religious Officer, Adi Waie. Then, our highly esteemed president, Syazirah Kuan had given her short welcoming speech and introduced our new junior BSA members. Shout out to Emir, Jia Hui and Wui Ting :)
Go Prez
Of course we went straight to the food table after that.
Thank you to all the behind-the-scene people who helped prepared the rice, murtabak and chicken curry and also special mentions to the Ghazalis for the Roti John (delicioso) and Rafidah for the vico cakes (omnomnom) and myself for the blueberry cheesecake (yep).
Fooooooooooooooooood
Silaturrahim
To celebrate the day, BSA had also prepared games for the members to join in and play. The games were very Brunei culture-specific and they basically had to impress this guy.
This guy
We asked the participants to form 4 groups of four and told them to come up with a very "Brunei" team name. So here are the teams:
Team 'Antam'
Team 'Sapit'
Team 'Cawir'
Team 'Saklikaueh'
The games: written quiz (it tests how Bruneian you are) , Guess the Makanan Tradisi, who gives the best impression of "Masmeah", "Saklikaueh", Babu si Nur and even down to imitating how a poklen would laugh (no offense intended especially to Azwan ahaxx), also a performance of Bruneian songs from each team. Sorry for the lack of pictures and videos cause I don't want to be hunted down by the involved. You're welcome. And the end result..........
- First place went to Team Sapit. (Enjoy your complimentary coffee guys).
- Second place went to both Team Cawir and Team Saklikaueh.
- Third/fourth place went to Team Antam.
Great sportsmanship and solid effort all around!
We also had another game lined up after that called Animal Kingdom. So basically everyone had an assigned partner with a matching character (e.g. Dancing Kangaroo) and they had to go around the room to act out their character to others in the hope of finding their soulmate. It was literally a zoo in there. But first pair to find each other wins. And the winners were the Excited Lions, Iffah and Wafi! And they each got a free Rob Roy's Learner Cone Ice Cream coupon (yums).
That's all from me...and that's a wrap-up guys! We hope you enjoyed our first official BSA gathering of the year and we are extremely sorry if the event was dragging and not as enjoyable as it should have been. But thank you guys for coming and Happy (belated) National Day!
Cheese~
