Saturday, 26th March 2016. The day that we, or at least some of us, have been waiting for has finally come. Dunedin’s typical volatile weather has never failed to rattle our decisions as to which attire was best to wear and this day was no exception. After countless meetings/brainstorming/game trials, we decided that this year’s Runedin would be based on the theme “Runedin – We Lost The Code!”, which ensued a story that sounded something like…..
A theft occurred in Kg. Brunei and each team was suspected of the crime. Each team had an alibi to justify their innocence but it was kept inside a luggage and they lost the code and blah blah blah map given, get the clues, crack the code.
9 a.m. Everyone gathered at Anzac, all hyped up! (tpi eseennn, it was a tad bit too early for a Saturday lol). The participants were divided into 4 teams of 4 players: Sky (Blue Team), Daredevil (Red Team), Serigala Hijau 2.0 (Green Team), All Greys (weelll I meaaann, the name says it all aye).
Recitation of Al-Fatihah by the Religious Officer
Ooo yiisss stretch dem calves boys
The race consisted of 10 stations in total and at each station, the team which completed the mission would be given a hint card. The race kicked off remarkably for the All Greys as they managed to get first place for the first mission. Understandably enough, other teams kept on their toes, focused and consequently, changed the game’s script in the grand scheme of things.
The Marauder's Map (shoutout to Tikah who made this!)

['Talking in Circles'] "Hey we got it right, guys!!"
['Face The Music'] "B-but they all sound the same...."
['Perfectly Rational'] "Pls, pls give me the right ratio"
['Ready Spaghetti'] Audacious move by the All Greys. Well done!

Station 7 (Logan Park) was one to remember, without doubt;
“The most memorable moment for me was when (the person who shall not be named) did the elephant spin thing, she immediately fell to the ground for a solid 3 mins”
“It was when I did the spinning high five thingy, losing my balance was hilarious”
“When (tuuuut) became all dizzy and fell down after doing the elephant spin!”
“That spinning game where people fall over the places lol”
Quoted from the Juniors 2016 muahaha… Too bad I wasn’t there to witness huhuhu…
['Elephant Nose + Hi-5'] This was what the juniors meant
['Brain Challenge - Sing & Write'] I kid you not, this is actually tough
['Fool The Officer'] "Nyaman jua aiskrim campur vinegar ani ah..."
After a few hours of physical and mental exhaustion, the Daredevils managed to crack the code ahead of the other teams and were crowned champions. (P.S: I know the whole luggage thing was a let down to some of you...Fun fact! Initially, we were thinking of incorporating a spy in the game but naaaah we agreed that it wasn’t a good idea based on past years' experiences lolol). On a brighter note, all teams were respectively given vouchers from La Porchetta, Pitta Hut, Churros Ole and Rob Roy Dairy (Big shout out to all for the sponsorhips!)
